PTI Make It Monday #269 Embossed and Outlined Backgrounds

Here's my last minute entry to Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #269 Embossed and Outlined Backgrounds challenge. This was a fun technique that I'll have to remember to use again! It really makes the images pop! For my first card I created a wreath with Tiny Treats: Christmas and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I added some sparkle with gold stickles and a die cut 'happy' in gold adhesive paper.

For my second card I again used Tiny Treats: Christmas for an all over background and the new Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die. I cut one side of the large scalloped rectangle and turned it around to cut the other edge and mounted that on a card that is cut slightly larger than an standard A2 card. I used the smaller scalloped rectangle to frame the sentiment. The stickles on the holly berries aren't dry yet but I was running out of light to take my picture!

PTI Make It Monday #268 Double Layer Tags

It's time to make some Holiday Tags with Dawn McVey over at Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #268 Double Layer Tags.

When Dawn mentioned that her family will sometimes write the recipients names in pencil so that they can reuse the tags I was inspired to create some reuseable tags.
So my second layer became a top piece to write the To/From. We can save the bottom part to reuse and put on a new top To/From layer. Not sure if we will actually do this, but I thought I'd give it a try!

I made a whole bunch of tags! I started with Candy Cane Christmas and used a Tremendous Tags Die for the top circle tag. The bottom layer is Tag Sale #10.

Then I used Christmas Critters and Cozy Christmas and used a Big Ticket Die cut as the top layer. The bottom layer is Monthly Moments Journal Card #6.

Next I had fun with Friendship Jars Holiday Fillers...

and some more tickets.

I just couldn't stop lol!

These are fun and addicting!

I might just have to make some more!

PTI November 2016 Blog Hop

Such amazing inspiration for Papertrey Ink's November 2016 Blog Hop!

Aren't those colors gorgeous!  I had lots of fun playing! First I was inspired by the gold polka dots on a hawaiian shores background.

I used the Vintage Ornaments II set with just one color on each ornament. I stamped the pine branches from Holiday Greens on Limeade Ice cardstock and then brushed a little Pinefeather in the center of each diecut to add depth. I dug some gold threads out of my collection of needlepoint fibers to hang the ornaments. The sentiment is stamped on vellum.

I created another card with the Vintage Ornaments II set.  A little bit simpler with no die cutting.  I love how versatile this set is and how you can apply color in different ways to the ornaments. I added some sequins and a strip of stickles to the left side of the card.

My first attempt at stamping had a little stamping boo boo so I used it for a tag. I used a die from Post & Parcel for my tag. It's my new favorite die for tags right now!

And last I created a card with Gifts of the Season. I did lots of masking on the gifts and then I colored some of the gifts with copics to add a little more color.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
Lots of beautiful cards to see on the hop!

PTI Create Along With Us Nov 2016

There were some great cards created by the Papertrey Ink Design Team this month that we can use as inspiration for our Create Along With Us cards this week!  I was inspired by Lexi Daly's confetti card below.  I love the bright graphic look with the black sentiment at the lower edge.

So here's what I created...

Instead of the candle for the 'confetti' pieces, I used the words Peace, Love, & Joy from PTI's Instant Photo: Holidays stamp set.

I was also inspired by Melissa Phillips card below so I made a second card. I love the scalloped front edge with the polka dot paper on the inside!

Here's what I came up with:

I must have been still feeling the influence of Lexi's card with the sentiment on the black rectangle! The sentiment is from Birthday Bash Sentiments stamp set.

I was worried I wouldn't be able to get any decent photos since it was such a wet rainy Sunday here in Northern California. Of course I always wait til the last minute!

Papertrey October 2016 Blog Hop Challenge

There's some gorgeous inspiration at Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop this month! Here's the photo :

And here's what I created:

I started stamping some leaves with Leaf Prints and then I felt the need to create some plaid and gingham leaves! So that's what I went with even though it strayed a bit from the original inspiration piece.

I used a lot of sets for the patterns on the leaves: Chicken Scratch, A Little Argyle, Herringbone Background, Gingham and Super Gingham Backgrounds and I used With All My Heart for the 'LOVE' letters. The 'Stitched together with' phrase comes from Chicken Scratch. I used Sew Simple for the straight stitching lines and a black marker pen for the stitching around the edges of the leaves.

So many beautiful cards on the hop!
Thanks for coming by to take a look at my card!

Make It Monday #264 Die Cut Stencil Shapes

It's Make it Monday #264 over at Papertrey Ink today! Melissa is showing us how to use our die cuts as stencils and rubbing soft color onto our backgrounds with papertowels. I made two cards using this technique.  The first one uses the branch from Winter Woods as the stencil. I stenciled Winter Wisteria on a piece of watercolor paper and then I used some water to soften the color a bit.

For the next card I used the Winter Woods Cover Plate as the stencil with soft stone rubbed onto the background.

Papertrey Ink Create Along with Us Oct 2016

I'm playing along with Papertrey Ink's October 2016 Create Along with Us.  I was inspired by Melissa Phillips card that you can see below and on her blog.

I always love red gingham, kraft and white together!  Here's what I created:

I used Christmas Critters along with the postage stamp dies from Post & Parcel.  I'm looking forward to playing some more with these sets!

Thanks!
