Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #258 Cover Plate Tags

I'm playing along with Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #258 Cover Plate Tags. Laurie Willison showed us how to make tags using our cover plate dies. What a great idea that I hadn't thought of doing before!

Instead of a tag, I first made a card using this concept and the new Scallops Cover Plate.  I love how these came out when I cut them with the scalloped Monthly Moments Journal Card 2 die.

I used the reverse of the cut out to make a Christmas tag along with Instant Photo Holidays and Snowflake Flurries stamp sets. I purchased these sets right before they went into the Vault this year. I'm going to love having them to use for Christmas tags!

I made another tag using the Parisian Doily die which isn't exactly a cover plate, but I was inspired to cut it down and use it on a tag, too!  I also used Tremendous Treats: Christmas for this one.

Then I made some Halloween tags using the Modern Cross Quilt Cover Plate along with Tremendous Treats: Halloween.

I loved this Make It Monday!  Thanks Laurie, for a great way to expand the uses for our dies!

Papertrey Ink August 2016 Blog Hop

The inspiration for PTI's August Blog Hop is this fun photo:

I love the colors! Here are the cards that I've created:

On this first one I watercolored a background and then embossed some images from Woodblock Prints in gold.

On my second card I used the reverse stenciling technique with a stencil from Woodblock prints.  I embossed 'birthday' in gold and painted a banner in gold leaf paint to put under the Just A Number die cut.

Thanks for coming by to take a look!

Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us August 2016

Hello there! I'm participating in Papertrey Ink's  Create Along with Us Challenge August 2016. The card I've chosen as my inspiration is this one by Betsy Veldman:

And here's my card:

I've retaken and updated all these photos in better light so please ignore this next photo. (I think I can't remove it because then the link would go away?)

I loved how Betsy stamped her sentiment on the striped banner! For the background I used the reverse stenciling technique from a previous Make It Monday.  I had lots of fun playing with this technique!

Speaking of Make It Monday, here's a few cards a made for MIM #257 Sentiment Strip grounding and didn't get posted in time.  I've been feeling really lazy about doing blog posts lately.
