Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do for Papertrey Ink's April 2016 Blog Hop this month.  I usually try to translate the photo so literally to my card, but I didn't think that would be so great for this one. After reading Nichole's ideas on how to approach it I decided to focus on the layers in the photo. Here's the inspiration photo.

And here's my card...

I stamped the leaf and stem from PTI's Fall Florals from dark to light with Scarlet Jewel, Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry and Sweet Blush. I used Kraft ink for the floral circles and Simply Chartreuse on top of the Kraft.  The hello is from Bloomin Cute.  I love the font used for these phrases! I didn't have quite the right color of twine, so I colored a plain one with Copic markers.

I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

Papertrey Ink MIM #246 Faux Brush Lettering

Make it Monday #246 over at Papertrey Ink has us using a Faux Brush Lettering technique by Amy Sheffer.  It was fun!  Here's the card I created.

I used the happy sentiment from PTI's Pretty Peonies.  It's the 2012 anniversary set, but I just recently acquired it so it's new to me!  I don't have the matching dies yet so I had to fussy cut the Happy.  The lettering isn't a brushstroke but it's the largest phrase I have so that's what I used.  Ends up looking more ombre than brushstroke.

The flower and leaf are from Bigger Blooms, the frame is Keep It Simple Frames and the stripes are from Simon Says Stamp.

Papertrey Ink MIM #244 Score Lines

Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #244 features using scoring lines as a design element on your cards. Something I hadn't thought of doing before!

It's difficult to photograph the score lines, so I hope you can see them.

I'm still obsessed with stitching on my cards from PTI's March Blog Hop, so I've incorporated it into my card for this Make it Monday challenge. I used a Soft Stone card base and embossed the sentiment in gold.  I used some gold thread in the stitching, too!

I can't seem to stop the stitching. An intervention might be needed.  See what I mean...

These are all stitched on cardstock only.  I haven't even started on the felt yet.  That will be next.
