Papertrey Ink's 10th Anniversary Celebrations 2012-2016

Still celebrating along with Papertrey Ink for their 10th Anniversary!  I wanted to create a card for each year but I've only made it from 2007 through 2013 so far. 2007 to 2011 are on my previous blog post.

2013
Maile Belle's card inspired me to take out one of my stitching dies. I love the layout that she used for her card.

I used the Stitched Folk Flower Die for my card.

2012
I love the bold simplicity of Keeway Tsao's card using Sentiment Signs.

I used the same stamp set and Keeway's watercolor painting technique over each phrase.  I like it when the watercolors run together so I let them flow together in a few spots. Of course I had to add more embellishments.  I wish I could just leave things alone and keep things simple like Keeway did on her card.

No time for 2014, 2015 or 2016. Sad face. I'll try to add some more cards to this post later to complete the 10 year celebration.

Papertrey Ink's 10th Anniversary Celebrations 2007 to 2011

I'm celebrating along with Papertrey Ink for their 10th Anniversary this month! So much fabulous inspiration! Here are my cards for the 2007 thru 2011 celebrations. 2012 through 2016 are on my next blogpost.

2011

Dawn McVey's card using Newsprint Background and Fresh Bouquet was my inspiration. I don't have the Newsprint stamp but I do have Fresh Bouquet.

I used Background Basics Text Style for my background. Dawn's watercoloring of the floral image inspired me and I used the same technique.

2010

I know it doesn't look like it, but my card was inspired by Michelle Leone's card using Take Three Summer

I used Bloomin Cute to create the circles and played around with the layout until I found something I liked.

2009

I loved the bold graphic look of Cristina Kowalczyk's card using Giga Guidelines.

I used Lovely Layers for my card with Label Basics to frame the sentiment which was stamped using Graceful Greetings.

2008

My card for 2008 was inspired by Michelle Wooderson's card using Flower Garden. I liked the colors and cute look of her card.

I struggled with the layout tying to make it look like Michelle's card and it just wasn't working so I moved things around a bit and came up with this card using Fancy Folk Art.

2007

My card for 2007 was inspired by Laurie Schmidlin's card using Text Boxed.  I love how she layered the three panels!

I don't have that set, so I used the sunflower image from Botanical Blocks. I stamped the flower on Stormy Sea, Limeade Ice, and Saffron Spice cardstock and then colored the background behind each flower with a coordinating copic marker to get the same two toned look as Laurie's card.

PTI Make it Monday #274: Pattern Play with Die Cut Silhouettes

Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #274 is with Lexi Daly this week.  She has us using patterned paper and die cutting to create our cards.

Here's what I came up with:

I used Strawberry Patch stamp set which I recently purchased.  I just love those strawberries! The papers are Bitty Dots and Leaf Prints.  I still haven't received my big January Sale order of papers. Well it's not that big lol.  I was quite restrained and I'm sure I'll wish that I had purchased more!

My next card uses Life is Beautiful butterflies, and Bitty Dots, Leaf Prints and Chicken Scratch papers.

PTI January 2017 Blog Hop

Nicole Heady has given us a fabulous inspiration photo for Papertrey Ink's January Blog HopThis one is definitely inspiring!

My first card uses the new Fresh Bouquet stamp set which I love!

I dug Vintage Labels out of my supplies which I hadn't used in awhile!  The sentiment is from Floral Sketches. Background paper is Lovely Lady + White Basics Paper.  Oh how I wish I had purchased more of this during the big sale but now it is out of stock. I really loved the Color + White patterned paper packs and I'm sad that they aren't going to be around any more. I was inspired by Kay Miller to add some white dots to the flowers. Oh and look, I just noticed that I forgot the white on the little berries at the top! I'll go fix that...

Next, I used mostly the same elements and added the new Inspired: Love die. The sentiment on this one comes from With All My Heart.

My next card drifts away from the colors in the inspiration photo and uses the new Lilac Grace which I love! I edged the heart and the striped background with a black copic marker. The striped background stamp is from Simon Says Stamp.

My final card again uses the same elements while varying the colors. The sentiment on this one is also from With All My Heart.

PTI Make It Monday #269 Embossed and Outlined Backgrounds

Here's my last minute entry to Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #269 Embossed and Outlined Backgrounds challenge. This was a fun technique that I'll have to remember to use again! It really makes the images pop! For my first card I created a wreath with Tiny Treats: Christmas and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I added some sparkle with gold stickles and a die cut 'happy' in gold adhesive paper.

For my second card I again used Tiny Treats: Christmas for an all over background and the new Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die. I cut one side of the large scalloped rectangle and turned it around to cut the other edge and mounted that on a card that is cut slightly larger than an standard A2 card. I used the smaller scalloped rectangle to frame the sentiment. The stickles on the holly berries aren't dry yet but I was running out of light to take my picture!

PTI Make It Monday #268 Double Layer Tags

It's time to make some Holiday Tags with Dawn McVey over at Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #268 Double Layer Tags.

When Dawn mentioned that her family will sometimes write the recipients names in pencil so that they can reuse the tags I was inspired to create some reuseable tags.
So my second layer became a top piece to write the To/From. We can save the bottom part to reuse and put on a new top To/From layer. Not sure if we will actually do this, but I thought I'd give it a try!

I made a whole bunch of tags! I started with Candy Cane Christmas and used a Tremendous Tags Die for the top circle tag. The bottom layer is Tag Sale #10.

Then I used Christmas Critters and Cozy Christmas and used a Big Ticket Die cut as the top layer. The bottom layer is Monthly Moments Journal Card #6.

Next I had fun with Friendship Jars Holiday Fillers...

and some more tickets.

I just couldn't stop lol!

These are fun and addicting!

I might just have to make some more!

PTI November 2016 Blog Hop

Such amazing inspiration for Papertrey Ink's November 2016 Blog Hop!

Aren't those colors gorgeous!  I had lots of fun playing! First I was inspired by the gold polka dots on a hawaiian shores background.

I used the Vintage Ornaments II set with just one color on each ornament. I stamped the pine branches from Holiday Greens on Limeade Ice cardstock and then brushed a little Pinefeather in the center of each diecut to add depth. I dug some gold threads out of my collection of needlepoint fibers to hang the ornaments. The sentiment is stamped on vellum.

I created another card with the Vintage Ornaments II set.  A little bit simpler with no die cutting.  I love how versatile this set is and how you can apply color in different ways to the ornaments. I added some sequins and a strip of stickles to the left side of the card.

My first attempt at stamping had a little stamping boo boo so I used it for a tag. I used a die from Post & Parcel for my tag. It's my new favorite die for tags right now!

And last I created a card with Gifts of the Season. I did lots of masking on the gifts and then I colored some of the gifts with copics to add a little more color.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
Lots of beautiful cards to see on the hop!
